Life is often unremarkable. It doesn’t make it less important or invalid – it is just the reality of existence. Days often pass by without incident and then when you recall them it’s tricky to remember anything about them. You need days like that, because if everything was a good as being on holiday, then holidays wouldn’t be special either. So, it is with whisky. Just because it doesn’t blow you away, doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy it and there isn’t value in it.

Aroma: Apple, vanilla and cinnamon mix with raisins and toasted hazelnuts. It’s your basic fruit and nut – apple crumble combination.

Taste: The first notes of this whisky are delicately sweet, with floral honey or butter toffee.

The middle is sweet and fruity, yet has a acidic fruity bitterness, like a good quality dark chocolate or a lightly roasted South American coffee

The final notes are nutty and have a gentle cinnamon spice. It is a tingly, gentle spice, which is floral and full of baking spices. It is short and leaves before it outstays its welcome.

Real Dram Factor: Perfectly drinkable – 6.7

You will like this if: you like your whisky like you like a bus shelter – pleased its there, but have no strong feelings about it either.
